Notes:
  1. Brannan Island is on Highway 160 a few miles south of the city of Rio Vista in Sacramento County. The park is located on the lower peninsular extension of Brannan Island, and is surrounded by the Sacramento River on the west, Three Mile Slough on the southeast, and Seven Mile Slough on the northeast.
  2. Brannan Island has a 10-lane boat ramp as well as picnicking and swimming facilities.
  3. Turlock Lake is about 25 miles east of Modesto.
  4. Picknicking, day-use and boat ramps are available at Turlock Lake.
  5. Woodson Bridge State Recreation Area is a beautiful oak woodland park nestled along the Sacramento River between Chico and Red Bluff.
  6. Woodson Bridge is on South Avenue just three miles west of Highway 99 at Vina, or six miles east of Interstate 5 at Corning.

  1. These campgrounds are located near Lake Almanor and Chester, CA.
  2. All Rocky Point host sites can elect to have landline phones hooked up seasonally. The hosts pay for the phone line.
  3. Cellular service with certain providers is good. Boosters or antennas help also. Cellular service providers can tell you about their service in the area. Service in Ponderosa, Cool Springs, and Yellow Creek is spotty but marked and usable.
  4. UHF radios are provided for emergencies. Last Chance usable.
  5. Last Chance hours increase when there are reservations in the campground. The reservation side fills up during Bow and Rifle deer seasons. We increase the hours during hunting season.
  6. We will pay mileage for the host to drive their personal vehicle between Camp Conery and the Day Use areas and Ponderosa 1 and the boat ramp.
  7. Last chance requires driving about 3 miles on a gravel road. It is 15 minutes from town.
  8. Yellow Creek requires driving about 7 miles on gravel road. It is 45 minutes from town.
  9. Cool Springs requires driving about 2 miles on gravel road. The road in the campground and road past the campground is paved to stop dust in the campground. It is 30 minutes from town.
  10. Ponderosa is 20 minutes from town.
  11. All others are 15 minutes from towns.
  12. Sewer at Rocky Point Booth and Ponderosa #2 are 250 gallon tanks that we empty.
  13. We provide propane to the hosts at Yellow Creek and Last Chance.
  14. There is one TV channel available on antenna at Rocky Point, but satellite is accessible for all sites.
  15. The nearest Wal-Mart is 45 minutes away in Susanville, Ca. There is a hospital in Chester. PO Boxes are available.
