Burnt Rancheria Campground is located 50 miles east of San
Diego, at an elevation of 6000 feet. Situated in an open oak grove with spectacular desert views, this
campground has 110 campsites and an amphitheatre. Campers come here to hike and enjoy the wildlife and the
view.
To get there from San Diego take I-8 East to the Sunrise Exit. Get off and go approximately 11 miles to
Milepost 23. The entrance is just past this mile marker.
Amenities include paved roads, drinking water, flush toilets, showers, picnic tables, handicap accessible
sites and bathrooms, fire rings, and telephone service.
Fees are $17 /night for a single site with up to 8 people and 2 vehicles. A $5 extra vehicle fee will
be charged for any vehicle above 2. All vehicles must fit in the spurs.
Check out time is 1 p.m. This area frequently has fire restrictions in the summer. The campground
is open from the end of May to late September.
