Daniel Boone - Laurel River Lake
Named in honor of Mountain Man Daniel Boone, this rugged,
lush Appalachian area is known for steep forested ridges, narrow valleys, beautiful lakes, and over 3,400
miles of sandstone cliffs. Daniel Boone is also home to the Red River Gorge Geological Area, Natural Arch
Scenic Area, Clifty Wilderness, Beaver Creek Wilderness, and five wildlife management areas. As you can
imagine, visitors come from all over the country to hike, rock climb, fish, swim, boat, and generally enjoy
the beauty of this rugged wilderness. |

Grove Campground is located 8 miles from Corbin at an elevation of 1100 feet. Set on Laurel River
Lake, this hilly, wooded campground has 37 single sites, 15 double sites, and 4 walk-in tent sites. Campers
come here to fish, boat, swim, hike, and explore the beautiful wilderness. Only 1/2 mile away from the
campground is Grove Marina, a full-service marina where campers can rent boats, and buy camping and fishing
supplies, fishing licenses, and basic groceries.
To get there take Exit 25 from I-75 at Corbin, Kentucky. Take US 25W west 5 miles. Turn right on Kentucky
1193 for 2 miles. Turn right on Forest Service Road 558. Go 3 miles to campground.
Amenities at the campground include paved roads, showers, flush toilets, drinking water, a boat ramp,
a fish cleaning station, a dump station, and hiking trails. Each site has a tent pad, lantern holder,
picnic table, and a fire ring. All drive-in sites have water and electric hookups. Firewood is sold on site.
Fees for a single drive-in site with water and electric hookups and up to 6 people and 2 vehicles are $20
/night. Fees for a double site with water and electric hookups and up to 12 people and 4 vehicles are $36
/night. Fees for a single walk-in site with up to 6 people are $8 /night.

Grove Boat-in Campground is located about 8 miles from
Corbin. As the name implies, this unique campground is a boat-in facility: boaters pull up and tie off for
the night while they pitch tents and camp. They also fish, swim and enjoy the area's diverse wildlife and
quiet seclusion. The campground has 19 single sites and 12 double sites.
To get there from I-75 at the south Corbin interchange (exit 25), take US 25W west for 5 miles, turn right
(north) on KY 1193, go 2 miles. Turn right on Forest Road 558. Go 3 miles to Grove Campground. Launch your
boat onto Laurel River Reservoir at the Grove Campground boat ramp and head north 1 mile. Grove Boat-in
Campground sits at the end of two peninsulas separated by a small bay. Signs for Grove Boat-in are visible
from the lake. |

Amenities at the campground include vault toilets, picnic tables, lantern poles, tent pads,
fire rings, and drinking water. Most of the sites are near the water’s edge, with moorings near each site.
The sites are spaced well apart and provide a sense of seclusion.
Fees are $8 /night for a single site with up to 6 people, and $12 /night for a double site with up to 12
people.

Holly Bay campground is located about 17 miles West
of London on Laurel River Lake. This forested campground has 64 single sites, 11 doubles sites, and 19
walk-in tent sites. Campers come here to boat, fish, swim and hike. The local Forest Service provides
boat and canoe rides. The facility also has an amphitheater with campfire talks, a fish cleaning station,
and shower buildings.
To get there take Exit 38 from I-75 in London, Kentucky. Turn west on KY 192. Go 14.2 miles and turn south
(left) on KY 1193. Follow signs to Holly Bay Campground entrance (3 miles).
Amenities at the campground include a boat ramp, fish cleaning station, showers, flush toilets, drinking
water, and amphitheater. Each site has a picnic table, fire ring, tent pad, and lantern holder. All drive-in
sites have electric and water hookups. Firewood is sold on site.
Fees for a drive-in single site with water and electric hookups and up to 6 people and 2 vehicles are $20
/night. Fees for a drive-in double site with water and electric hookups and up to 12 people and 4 vehicles are
$36 /night. Fees for a premium, water-front, drive-in single family site with water and electric hookups
and up to 6 people and 2 vehicles are $25 /night. Fees for a single family walk-in site with up to 6 people
are $8 /night.

White Oak Boat-in Campground is located on the West side of Laurel River Reservoir. Set in a
mixed hardwood forest on the banks of the lake, White Oak has 41 single sites and 10 double sites.
Campers come to White Oak for it's fishing, diverse local wildlife, and its access to many local hiking
trails.
To get there from I-75 at the London interchange (exit 38), take KY 192 west for 12 miles, turn left
(south) on Forest Road 774, go 2 miles to Marsh Branch boat launch. Launch your boat and boat in 1 mile
south to campground.
Amenities at the campground include a boat launch, vault toilets, and drinking water. Each site has a
picnic table, fire ring, tent pad, and lantern holder. Most of the campsites are located near the water's
edge and there are moorings near each site. The sites are spaced far enough apart to provide a sense of
seclusion.
Fees are $8 /night for a single site with up to 6 people and $12 /night for a double site with up to 12
people.

Craig's Creek Group Area is tucked away on the backwaters of Good’s Branch on
Laurel River Lake on the site of an old farm. Campsites are sheltered by walnut and pine trees. The group
area has a large playing field as well as a volleyball court and horseshoe pits. A trail runs from the
campground to a nearby boat ramp. The three group sites that
make up this campground have great appeal to church groups, boy scout
troupes, and family reunions.
To get there from I-75 at the London interchange (exit 38), take KY 192 west for 12.2 miles, turn left
(south) on Forest Road 62, go 2 miles to the site.
Amenities at the campground include paved roads, vault toilets, and drinking water. Each group camping
site has picnic tables, a large pedestal grill, lantern posts, and a fire circle.
Fees are $50 /night for a group camp site with up to 30 people and 8 vehicles, $80 /night for a group
camp site with up to 60 people and 15 vehicles, or $50 /day for a group picnic site with a
pavilion.
