Huron Manistee National Forest

The Huron - Manistee National Forest is located in the rolling, forested hills of Michigan's lower peninsula. Split down the middle, half of the forest is located in the East, near Lake Huron. All of the campgrounds American Land & Leisure runs are part of the other half; located on the western edge of the peninsula, on or near Lake Michigan, within a day's drive of Chicago, Detroit, and Grand Rapids. These beautiful campgrounds draw tourists to their quiet forest trails, wildflower covered meadows, and cool rivers to hike, swim and canoe. Bird watching, mountain biking, hunting, and horseback riding are also available.

American Land & Leisure runs three different facilities in the Huron Manistee Forest.

Bowman Bridge Campground is a quiet, forested campground about 5 miles west of Baldwin. It has 24 camp sites. Campers come out to fish for trout, salmon and steelhead in the nearby river. There is no traffic noise, and the sunsets are spectacular. If there's a breeze, you can hear the waves crashing on the beach from the host site. Hours are 40 hours per week per couple. Full hookups are provided.

Sand Lake Campground is located about a mile and a half from Dublin, in a mixed hardwood forest on Sand Lake. Campers come out to hike local trails, fish in the lake, or just get away.
