Inyo - Bishop Creek / Big Pine

The Inyo National Forest is an outdoorsman's paradise. Stretching 165 miles along the California / Nevada border between Los Angeles and Reno, Inyo is home to a rugged landscape of knotty pine, craggy rocks, and towering mountains. Fisherman can find trout in more than 400 lakes and 1,100 miles of streams. Hikers can choose between 31 trailheads throughout the forest. Mountain bikers test their skills on the challenging Kamakazi trail.

American Land & Leisure currently runs 12 different facilities in the Inyo National Forest.

Big Pine Creek Campground is located about 10 miles from Big Pine on Forest Route 9S21. Campers come out to fish in the stream that runs through the campground, or hike to glaciers or lakes in the nearby John Muir Wilderness. The campground has 36 campsites.

To get there from Big Pine take Forest Route 9s21 about 10 miles to the campground.

Amenities at the campground include paved roads, vault toilets, drinking water, picnic tables, and fire rings.

Fees are $15 /night for a single site with up to 6 people and 2 vehicles. Extra vehicles are each charged an additional $5 /night.

Four Jeffrey Campground is located about 12 miles southwest of Bishop on State Highway 168. This shaded campground is adjacent to Bishop Creek, with views of Table Mountain. Bishop Park Campground is located in a pine forest along Bishop Creek about 13 miles southwest of Bishop on State Highway 168. There are 21 campsites and one group site. Local wildlife is diverse. Campers come out to fish in the creek or hike in the nearby John Muir Wilderness. Hours are 30 hours per week per couple. Full hookups are available.

Intake 2 Campground is located about 13 miles Southwest of Bishop on State Highway 168. Set in a lakeside forest along a stream, this campground brings campers out, naturally, to fish, swim, and enjoy the varied local wildlife. There are 15 campsites.
