Inyo - Bishop Creek / Big Pine

The Inyo National Forest is an outdoorsman's paradise. Stretching 165 miles along the California / Nevada border between Los Angeles and Reno, Inyo is home to a rugged landscape of knotty pine, craggy rocks, and towering mountains. Fisherman can find trout in more than 400 lakes and 1,100 miles of streams. Hikers can choose between 31 trailheads throughout the forest. Mountain bikers test their skills on the challenging Kamakazi trail.

American Land & Leisure currently runs 12 different facilities at Inyo National Forest.

Big Pine Creek Campground is located about 10 miles from Big Pine on Forest Route 9S21. Campers come out to fish in the stream that runs through the campground, or hike to glaciers or lakes in the nearby John Muir Wilderness. The campground has 36 campsites. Hours are 40 hours per week per couple. Full hookups are available.

Sage Flat Campground is located about 9 miles west along Forest Route 9S21. Campers come out to fish in the stream that runs alongside the campground, enjoy the beautiful mountain views, or hike to glaciers or lakes in the nearby John Muir Wilderness. The campground has 28 campsites. Hours are 30 hours per week per couple during the regular season, and 40 hours per week per couple during the peak season. Water hookups are available.

Upper Sage Flats Campground is located about 9 miles west along Forest Route 9S21. Campers come out to fish for trout in the stream that runs alongside the campground, enjoy the beautiful mountain views, or hike to glaciers or lakes in the nearby John Muir Wilderness. The campground has 21 campsites. Hours are 40 hours per week per couple. Water and sewer hookups are available.

Four Jeffrey Campground is located about 12 miles southwest of Bishop on State Highway 168. This shaded campground is adjacent to Bishop Creek, with views of Table Mountain. Campers like to fish and swim in the creek, and hike in the nearby John Muir Wilderness. Local wildlife is varied. There are 106 campsites. Hours are 40 hours per week per couple during the regular season and 52 hours per week per couple during the peak season. Full hookups are available.

Big Trees Campground is a small campground set in a Jeffrey pine forest about 12 miles from Bishop. The campground contains 9 campsites and a creek. Historic Cardinal Mine is nearby. Hosts from this campsite also care for a group site at Table Mountain Campground, 8 campsites at Willow Campground, and 8 campsites at Forks Campground. Hours are 30 hours per week per couple during the regular season and 40 hours per week per couple during the peak season. Full hookups are available.

Bishop Park Campground is located in a pine forest along Bishop Creek about 13 miles southwest of Bishop on State Highway 168. There are 21 campsites and one group site. Local wildlife is diverse. Campers come out to fish in the creek or hike in the nearby John Muir Wilderness. Hours are 30 hours per week per couple. Full hookups are available.

Intake 2 Campground is located about 13 miles southwest of Bishop on State Highway 168. Set in a lakeside forest along a stream, this campground brings campers out, naturally, to fish, swim, and enjoy the varied local wildlife. There are 15 campsites. Hours are 20 hours per week per couple. Full hookups are available.

Sabrina Campground is located about 15 miles southwest of Bishop on State Highway 168. Set in a forested area along a creek near Lake Sabrina, campers come out to fish, swim, and boat. There is a boat ramp for Lake Sabrina nearby. The campground has 18 campsites. Hosts for this campsite also care for 11 campsites at North Lake Campground. Hours are 40 hours per week per couple.
