Smith and Morehouse

Summer or winter, if you're looking for a beautiful place to get away from the city and play in Utah, the Wasatch-Cache National Forest is it. Comprised of beautiful canyons, soaring peaks, pristine hidden lakes, rivers and streams, the views will take your breath away. The Wasatch-Cache is also home to some of the world's premier ski areas. Fishermen enjoy the trout stocked rivers and streams. Campers come here from across the country to hike, mountain bike, ride horses, boat, swim, ski, sled, and enjoy the natural beauty of these rugged mountains.

American Land & Leisure runs two facilities in the Smith and Morehouse area.

Ledgefork Campground is located 22 miles from Kamas at an elevation of 7750 feet. Set in a conifer and aspen forest near Smith and Morehouse Reservoir, this campground has 73 sites. Campers come here to fish, hike, and hunt in the fall. Water and sewer hookups are available. Hours are 40 hours per week per couple during the regular season and 50 hours per week per couple during the peak season. This campground is open from the middle of May to the middle of September.

Smith and Morehouse Campground is located 23 miles from Kamas at an elevation of 7700 feet. Situated on Smith and Morehouse Reservoir in a pine and aspen forest, this campground has 34 sites. Campers come here to fish, hike, and generally relax. Water and sewer hookups are available. The area managers for the Smith and Morehouse area manage this facility. It is a salaried position. The campground is open from the middle of May to the middle of September.
