Old Grade Campground near Peacock, Michigan

Old Grade Campground

HURON-MANISTEE NATIONAL FOREST / BALDWIN-WHITE CLOUD RANGER DISTRICT

Old Grade Campground is a tiny little campground right on the Little Manistee River, near Peacock, MI.  20 family campsites, for up to 8 people each, are available on a first-come-first-served basis.  The campground is generally open from late April through mid-September.

Campsites are shaded by a mix of hemlock and birch trees.   A short interpretive hiking trail takes you over foot bridges from the campground through the forest.  Nearby wetlands and fields provide great opportunities for viewing wildlife.  Trout fishing is very popular on this shallow stretch of the Little Manistee River although canoeing is not recommended.
