Georgetown Ranger District
Georgetown Ranger District is packed with a variety of outdoor recreation for Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay area. Hiking, fishing, camping, hunting and rock-hounding are just the beginning of the fun that can be found in the northern part of the Eldorado National Forest.
Stumpy Meadows Campground is located about 17 miles east of Georgetown on Route 63, next to the clear, cold waters of the Stumpy Meadows Reservoir. The campground is situated in a conifer forest, with access to bike trails and great Rainbow and German Brown trout fishing. A boat ramp provides access to the reservoir.
Ponderosa Cove Group
Ponderosa Cove, on the shores of Stumpy Meadows Reservoir, will accommodate up to 75 people at one time. The site is available as first-come-first-served if not reserved. Be sure to check with the host or entrance board before setting up your tent.
Black Oak Group - closed until further notice
Black Oak has 4 group camping areas ranging in size from up to 25 people to up to 75. 3 sites are for tent camping only. Black Oak is near Stumpy Reservoir.
