Two host couples work together to care for Stuart Campground and Stuart Picnic Area.  One couple lives in and cares for the picnic area while the other lives in and cares for the campground.  The area is located 6 miles east of Elkins situated in a mixed forest along the Shavers Fork River.   The picnic area has 3 pavilions and a beach on the river.

Campers come here to fish for trout in the river, hike, explore local caves, hike to nearby Blackwater Falls, and visit the nearby Fernow Experimental Forest.
