One host couple works in Alder Dune from a FHU site with a telephone land-line for reservations and customer service.  This is a year-round campground with minimal hours during the winter months when only one loop is open.  A host may ask to stay year-round or just the summer or winter season.  Depending on staffing mowing and trimming may be included in the summer campground duties.  A golf cart is provided for campground use.  During winter months care for 2 additional equestrian campgrounds is included for about 10 hours per week: Baker Beach and Horse Creek.  A company truck is provided for their care.

Alder Dune is a fairly slow campground with only a few full weekends in late July/early August.  If the hosts are not doing the mowing, there is only about a month in the summer where you'll get up to 40/week as a couple.  There are 4 vault toilets in the campground.  We do not take care of the adjacent Day Use Area, nor do we collect fees for it.

Alder Dune is popular with fishermen as the two lakes, Alder and Dune, are stocked with small, large and trophy-size trout.  It is a put-and-take lake and you do need an Oregon fishing license to fish.

Florence, about 6 miles to the south, has a wide variety of shopping, dining and fuel available.  In fact, one of the cheapest places to buy fuel in Oregon is at the Fred Meyer in Florence.
