Rocky Point Campground is on the shores of Lake Almanor near Chester, California. Chester is about 15 minutes from Rocky Point.
The Area Manager lives in Rocky Point Campground with 4 host couples and a couple who works the kiosk. All but one host site has full hookups. The last one electric and water hookups with a septic tank that is emptied regularly. 3 hosts sites are adjacent to each other in Loop 1 near the campground entrance. The Area Manager's site is next to the dump station. Loops 2 and 3 are further away from the others.
Marvin Alexander Day Use area is in Prattville, a couple miles from Rocky Point. Either a local person is hired for this 10/week position or the Area Manager assigns the hours to another host.
There is a hospital in Chester and both Chester and Greenville have a few good dining choices and small grocery markets. The closest Walmart is in Susanville; 45 minutes away. Satellite dishes can receive from each of the host sites and there is 1 TV station available via antenna. Cell service is spotty in the campground depending on your provider. Wi-Fi may be available.
