The Admin area is a parking lot located near the Welcome Center.  The trailhead couple will care for the Day Use areas and Trailhead parking for Mitchell Lake and Long Lake.

BLRA is a multi-faceted area. The principal activities are camping, day use, fishing, and hiking. Brainard Lake itself has a road around it that provides access to many different trailheads, each with their own parking lots (many of which connect with the Continental Divide N/S trail). With a special permit hikers can stay out for overnight. In addition to the multiple parking areas for the various activities we have a large (165 site) parking area outside the Welcome Center to accommodate overflow, and stage those wishing to enter. On any given weekend we will have between 300 to 500 vehicles.  We will have one or more couples at the booth, two couples hosting Pawnee Campground, one couple managing the Mitchell Lake and Long Lake trailheads, one couple taking care of the day use areas, one couple doing maintenance, an Interpretive Coordinator and the Area Manager. This is a very intense, hyper-active, well utilized facility on the front range. The FS has/and will continue to spend significant amounts of money to perpetuate its status as the gem of the area.
