3 couples, plus the Area Managers, care for Sam Owen Campground and Day Use Area from FHU sites.  Two couples care for the loops where they live and one couple cares for the adjacent Day Use Area.   Golf carts are provided for campground use.

Sam Owen is a very busy campground.  Depending on usage, hours may be up to 40/week for each couple for 6 - 8 weeks.  Boating is a popular activity on Lake Pend Oreille and Sam Owen provides access to this beautiful lake. 

There are 9 flush restrooms (36 toilets) and a dump station.  The campground has its own sewer system including tanks and land application area.  Sewer and water system management may be contracted out.

The closest conveniences are in Sandpoint, Idaho.  Sandpoint has many dining choices, fuel, a Super Walmart and many other grocery options.
