Kamas Ranger District
Summer or winter, if you're looking for a beautiful place to get away from the city and play in Utah, the Wasatch-Cache National Forest is it. Campgrounds are scattered throughout beautiful canyons, soaring peaks, pristine hidden lakes, rivers and streams. The views will take your breath away. The Wasatch-Cache is also home to some of the world's premier ski areas. Fishermen enjoy the trout-stocked rivers and streams. Campers come here from across the country to hike, mountain bike, ride horses, boat, swim, ski, sled, and enjoy the natural beauty of these rugged mountains.
Shady Dell Campground
Located 17 miles east of Kamas, this beautiful campground is set in a ponderosa pine forest. Campers come here to fish, hunt in the fall, and generally escape to the clear, cool mountain air.
Shingle Creek ATV Campground
Shingle Creek ATV Campground is located 10 miles east of Kamas set in a grove of aspen and ponderosa pine near Beaver and Shingle Creeks. Campers come here to fish, hike, ride ATV's and hunt in the fall.
Taylors Fork Campground
Taylors Fork Trailhead and Campground is now combined with Shingle Creek. People come here to ride the ATV trails.
YELLOW PINE CAMPGROUND
Yellow Pine Campground is within approximately 3 miles of Shingle Creek Campground.
Lower Provo Campground
Lower Provo Campground is located 12 miles from Kamas set in a conifer forest near the Lower Provo River.
Pine Valley Group Area
This beautiful group area is a popular spot for family reunions. Campers come to this area to fish and hike.
Cobblerest Campground is located 20 miles east of Kamas set in a pine grove near the Upper Provo River. Campers come here to fish and hike.
Soapstone Campground is located about 16 miles east of Kamas set in a ponderosa pine and aspen forest near the Provo River. Campers come here to hike, fish, and enjoy the beautiful mountain veiws.
Washington Lake Campground
Washington Lake Campground is located 24 miles from Kamas set in a ponderosa pine forest on Washington Lake with beautiful mountain views. Campers come here to fish, swim, boat, and hike up the nearby Crystal Lake Trailhead.
Trial Lake Campground
Trial Lake Campground is located 25 miles from Kamas set in a ponderosa pine forest on Trial Lake with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Campers come here to fish, boat, and hike the nearby Crystal Lake Trailhead.
Lilly Lake Campground
Lilly Lake Campground is located 27 miles from Kamas at an elevation of 9800 feet. Set on Lilly Lake in a ponderosa pine forest, this campground has 14 sites and beautiful mountain views. Campers come here to fish for trout, boat, and hike.
Lost Creek Campground
Lost Creek Campground is located 28 miles from Kamas at an elevation of 9900 feet. Set among ponderosa pines along Lost Creek, this campground has 35 sites. Campers come here to fish, boat, and hike.
Moosehorn Campground is located 30 miles from Kamas at an elevation of 10,400 feet. Situated in an open conifer forest on Moosehorn Lake, this campground has 33 sites. Campers come here to fish, boat, and hike.
Mirror Lake Campground
Mirror Lake Campground is located 32 miles from Kamas at an elevation of 10,200 feet. Set in an open conifer grove on Mirror Lake, this campground has 80 sites. Campers come here to fish, hike, and boat.
Butterfly Campground is located 35 miles from Kamas at an elevation of 10,300 feet. Set in an open grove of spruce and pine on Butterfly Lake, this campground has 20 sites. Campers come here to fish, boat and hike.
Mill Hollow Campground - Closed until further notice
Aspen, fir and lodgepole pine shade the 26 campsites next to Mill Hollow Reservoir. Camper enjoy hiking, wildlife and fishing at this high elevation (8800') campground.
Wolf Creek Campground
The open season of this 9400' campground is subject to late snow melt and early snows in the Fall. Wolf Creek has only 3 family campsites and 2 group sites. One group site can accommodate up to 30 people, the other holds up to 60.
Ledgefork Campground is located 22 miles from Kamas at an elevation of 7750 feet. Set in a conifer and aspen forest near Smith and Morehouse Reservoir, this campground has 73 sites. Campers come here to fish, hike, and hunt in the fall.
Smith and Morehouse Campground
Smith and Morehouse Campground is located 23 miles from Kamas at an elevation of 7700 feet. Situated on Smith and Morehouse Reservoir in a pine and aspen forest, this campground has 34 sites. Campers come here to fish, hike, and generally relax.
