Ogden Ranger District

Summer or winter, if you're looking for a beautiful place to get away from the city and play in Utah, the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest is it.  Comprised of beautiful canyons, soaring peaks, pristine hidden lakes, rivers and streams, the views will take your breath away.  The Uinta-Wasatch-Cache is also home to some of the world's premier ski areas.  Fishermen enjoy the trout stocked rivers and streams.  Campers come here from across the country to hike, mountain bike, ride horses, boat, swim, ski, sled, and enjoy the natural beauty of these rugged mountains.

 

Anderson Cove Campground

Located 10 miles east of Ogden at an elevation of 5000 feet, Anderson Cove is set on the scenic Pineview Reservoir with 58 single sites.  The facility also has a boat launch, small store, volleyball court, 9 double sites, 1 quadruple site and 5 large group sites that will hold up to 100 people.  Campers come here to picnic, fish, swim, boat, water-ski, and generally relax and play.

Jefferson Hunt Campground

Jefferson Hunt Campground is located about 8 miles east of Ogden at an elevation of 5000 feet. Set in a cottonwood glade on the South Fork of the Ogden River and Pineview Reservoir, this campground has 29 sites.  Campers come here to fish for record breaking tiger musky in the reservoir, swim, boat, water-ski, and hike the local trails.

Magpie Campground

Magpie Campground is located about 6 miles from Huntsville at an elevation of 5200 feet.  Set among cottonwoods and willows on the banks of the South Fork of the Ogden River, this campground has 17 sites.  Campers come here to fish for trout and hike.

Botts Campground

This small campground is located along a bend in the river among tall old trees, and has 8 single sites.  Water and sewer hookups are available to the hosts.

Monte Cristo Campground                         

Monte Cristo Campground is located about 28 miles from Huntsville at an elevation of 9000 feet. Set in a spruce forest near Sugar Pine Creek, this campground has 47 sites, 2 group sites, and an amphitheater.  Campers come here to camp, hike, and picnic.

South fork Campground

South Fork Campground is located 7 miles east of Huntsville at an elevation of 5200 feet.  Set among cottonwood and willow on the banks of the South Fork of the Ogden River, this campground has 34 single and 8 double campsites.  Campers come here to fish and hike.

Upper Meadows Campground

Upper Meadows Campground is located about 8 miles east of Huntsville at an elevation of 5200 feet.  Set among cottonwood and willow on the banks of the South Fork of the Ogden River, this campground has 9 single sites.  Campers come to both places to fish in the river and hike.

Lower Meadows Campground

Lower Meadows Campground is located about 9 miles east of Huntsville at an elevation of 5200 feet.  Set among cottonwood and willow on the banks of the South Fork of the Ogden River, this campground has 9 single sites.  Lower Meadows has 17 campsites.  Campers come to both places to fish in the river and hike.

Willows Campground

Willows Campground is located 8 miles from Huntsville at an altitude of 5200 feet.  Set among cottonwood and willow on the banks of the South Fork of the Ogden River, this campground has 13 sites.  Campers come here to fish and hike.

Perception Park Campground

Perception Campground is located about 7 1/2 miles from Huntsville at an altitude of 5200 feet.  Set among cottonwood and willow on the banks of the South Fork of the Ogden River, this campground has 24 single sites and 3 group sites.  Campers come here to hike and fish.

Cemetery Point Day Use Area

Located in Huntsville on the Pineview Reservoir, this day use area has a boat launch, beach, and picnic area.  Folks come to this popular recreation area to boat, swim, fish, and picnic on the beautiful peninsula.

Middle Inlet Day Use Area

Middle Inlet is a day use area located about 3 miles from Huntsville on the Pineview Reservoir.  People come here to boat, swim, fish, and picnic.  Full hookups and a phone are available to the host.
