Green River Camping and Fishing

St Patrick's Day has got me thinking green!  Dripping Springs is one of my favorite campgrounds for fishing or floating the Green River near Flaming Gorge Reservoir.

At Dripping Springs on the Ashley National Forest, we offer the angler a variety of fishing opportunities from fly fishing head water streams for native Colorado River Cutthroat Trout to trolling the deep waters of Flaming Gorge Reservoir for Lake Trout and Kokanee Salmon.  Other commonly found fish include Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Smallmouth Bass, Channel Catfish.  Fishing is year round.  Ice fishing is a popular pastime in winter and Dripping Springs is open year round to accommodate sportsmen.

Dripping Springs is located just east of Dutch John on the Green River.  It is close enough to Flaming Gorge Reservoir to make lake fishing very accessible, too.

Outfitters in Dutch John can supply the angler with whatever sorts of gear and water transportation the fisherman desires.  There are also guides for hire who know the best spots for catching your limit.

Dripping Springs was almost completely reconstructed following the Mustang Fire in 2002. The tables and restrooms are new.  The roads and spurs are paved.  It now boasts 21 family sites and 4 large group sites.  There is also the availability of long term stays.  Boat launches, marinas, and showers are nearby as well as restaurants and convenience stores.

Make reservations for your summer campout.
