Buckboard Crossing Campground - Flaming Gorge near Green River, WY

Buckboard Crossing Campground

Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest \ Flaming Gorge Ranger District

Buckboard Crossing Campground is near the northern end of Flaming Gorge Reservoir.  The nearby boat ramp provides access to this scenic lake carved out of the flaming red rocks.  Natural shade is at a minimum in this desert landscape.  Man-made shelters provide shade and wind block for the picnic tables.  Boating, water skiing and fishing are awesome here and you couldn't ask for a bigger sky for star-gazing!

Buckboard Crossing Campground is generally open from mid-May through mid-September.  Flush toilets, drinking water and showers are provided in the campground.  Non-campers can use the shower facilities for a small fee.  A dump station is located on-site.  About 1/3 of the 66 campsites are for first-come-first-served campers.  Or, follow the link to revserve your campsite at least 4 days prior to your arrival:  Recreation.gov \ Buckboard Crossing Campground

The nearby Buckboard Marina, fish cleaning station and boat ramp includes boat rentals, fuel, slips, fishing licenses, bait and groceries.  The campground is not open in January when the marina hosts an annual Flaming Gorge Burbot Bash.
