Rocky Point Campground, Lake Almanor, No. California

Rocky Point Campground

PG&E DeSabla Watershed \ Lake Almanor Area

The views are breathtaking from this PG&E campground, nestled among the tall sugar and Ponderosa pine trees and in the shadow of Mt. Lassen.  Rocky Point is on the southwest end of Lake Almanor on Hwy 89 between Prattville and Canyon Dam.

Moor your boat on the beach right in front of your campsite! A free boat launch is within a couple miles of the campground. Free boat trailer parking is available along the county road within the campground. Come prepared for camping in bear country; store food out of sight and smell in your car. Many wild birds can be viewed in the campground; including osprey, eagles and hummingbirds, as well as the Pileated and the, rare, White-headed woodpeckers.

Rocky Point Campground has 131 first-come-first-served sites, each with a picnic table and fire ring and some that are handicap accessible.  No hookups are available but there is a sewage dump station in the campground.  There are also 2 group sites available for reservation.  Reserve online or call PG&E, at 916-386-5164, for details and fees.
