Cold Water Cove Campground near McKenzie Bridge, OR - virtual tour

Cold Water Cove Campground

Willamette National Forest \ McKenzie River Ranger District

Cold Water Cove Campground overlooks the pristine, turquoise waters of Clear Lake near McKenzie Bridge, OR.  Clear Lake is the headwaters of the McKenzie River.  The Clear Lake Loop Trail and the trail to Sahalie Falls and Koosah Falls provide scenic hiking from the campground as part of the McKenzie River National Recreation Trail.  The color and beauty of the lake, falls and general area, are the result of ancient basaltic and andesite lava flows.

Clear Lake is a popular fishing lake for native cutthroat and non-native rainbow and brook trout.  Power boats are not permitted; providing a serene setting for camping in this forested campground.  Maple, alder and Douglas fir provide separation of campsites for privacy and most sites do not have a view of the lake.  Cold Water Cove Campground is generally open from mid-May through mid-October.  34 campsites include 3 double sites.  Many campsites are accessible and all have picnic table and fire ring.  Drinking water, garbage containers, vault toilets, fish cleaning station and boat ramp are also provided.  Over half of the campsites may be reserved up to 6 months in advance of your arrival through this link:  Recreation.gov \ Cold Water Cove
