The Santiam Wagon Road is a great ride near Big Lake in the Oregon Cascades. Look for it on your next camping trip to Big Lake and Big Lake West Campgrounds.
The Santiam Wagon Road was a major east-west route over the Cascades from 1865 until 1939. The 102 mile route from Sisters to Albany, Oregon, passes by Big Lake. Take a gradual downhill slope to Sisters from Big Lake or go west for a more technical ride.
