Cathedral Rock Picnic Area
Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest \ Spring Mtn National Recreation Area
Cathedral Rock Group Picnic Area is located in the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area; often referred to as an "island in the desert". Over 100 springs dot this mountain range. Visitors also enjoy hiking, horseback riding and scenic driving just 30 miles from Las Vegas at the top of beautiful Kyle Canyon. The hike to the top of Mt Charleston provides spectacular views.
The picnic area is open year-round, for a fee, to first-come-first-served visitors. Some individual sites may be reserved up to 6 months in advance for the summer months. Group picnic sites, for up to 16, 32 or 40 people, may be reserved for use between May and October up to a year in advance on Recreation.gov
