This facility has been renovated and is now day use only.  There is no overnight camping.  Sites are all first-come-first-served.  Year-round hours of operation are 8 AM to 8 PM.  The plan is to add reservations at a later date.

Kyle Canyon Picnic Area is at an elevation of 6,900 feet with 25 sites in a timbered setting.  Sites are a mix of single (8 people) and double (16 people) capacity and several are accessible to people with disabilities. Each site has a picnic table, fire ring and grill.  Roads and parking spurs are paved.  Vault toilets, drinking water and garbage disposal are provided.

Visitors enjoy camping, hiking, biking, horseback riding in the Mt Charleston Wilderness. The 1.6 mile Fletcher Canyon Trail is nearby.  The Spring Mountain Visitor Center is just up the road, offering guided hikes and educational programs.  Fletcher View Campground is also nearby.

The picnic area is set in an open forest of Ponderosa pine, mountain mahogany and Gambel oak, which provides partial shade.  Manzanita and wild roses dot the landscape.  A seasonal stream and the highway parallels the area.  Most sites have views of the surrounding towering canyon walls.  Check rates and additional details on Recreation.gov.
